FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I BRING MY BABY/GRANDMA?

Everyone that goes on the tour will have to descend and ascend 145 stairs. If a member of your party is unable to do this, you will need to carry them. While we will not tell you not to bring your baby or favorite senior citizen, we recommend considering their physical ability as well as your own (considering you will be the one carrying them up 10 flights of stairs) before booking a tour.

HOW CAN I BOOK A RESERVATION?

Reservations are no longer required or available. Tours are available every day from 9-4:30 on a first-come, first-served basis.

CAN I JUMP IN THE WATER INSTEAD OF WALKING BACK UP THE STAIRS?

We forbid any of our guests from climbing off the platform because of the various dangers involved. The waters can get rough and are shallower than they look. There are also wild animals such as seals and sea lions which have been documented as injuring swimmers before.

If you want to swim in the caves, you are free to do so if you leave us and our tunnel out of it. To do this, hop in the water at Goldfish Point or at the Cove and swim around.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

Legitimate service dogs are allowed on private tours.
Emotional support animals are not.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cash, all major credit/debit cards, and contactless pay

WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES SHOULD I WEAR?

WHERE CAN WE BOOK A KAYAK TOUR?

Kayak tours of La Jolla's sea caves are launched from La Jolla Shores by a number of businesses, including San Diego Bike and Kayak, La Jolla Kayak, and Everyday California

CAN I BUY TICKETS IN ADVANCE FROM VIATOR/TRIPADVISOR/ETC?

Casual and comfortable clothing is recommended, with an emphasis on close toed shoes with a good grip because the stairs in the tunnel can get slippery and muddy.

WHERE CAN I PARK?

WHAT ELSE CAN I DO IN THE AREA?

  • Find cool and interesting shops, art galleries, and restaurants on Propsect St. and Girard Ave.

  • Visit the sea lions at the Cove and the seals at the Chlidrens Pool

  • Wade in the tidepools at South Casa Beach

Free street parking is limited but available near us. We recommend trying the business and residential areas in between Torrey Pines Road and Prospect St. (Ivanhoe, Silverado, and Cave St are all good options) before trying Prospect St. or Coast Blvd.

If you don't mind paying or parking, there is an Ace parking lot across the street from us. Restaurants on Prospect St. (less than a 5 minute walk from us) have valet parking as well.
